Results:

Higher Property Values:  27 votes

No change:                       62 votes

Lower Property Values:  31 votes

Calculation of Margin of Error:

Comparing  ‘No Change’ vs. Lower Property Values:

            No change:                       62 votes

            Lower Property Values:  31 votes

n=93

            Using the formula: Margin of Error = ±10.1%

No change: 62 votes±10.1%= 62 votes ±6.3 votes = a range of 55.7 to 68.3

Lower Property Values: 31 votes±10.1%=31 votes ±3.1 votes = a range of 27.9 to 34.1

            The ranges do not overlap, therefore, the majority vote that such a policy will not effect property values is statistically significant at the 95% confidence level (i.e. 19 times out of 20) and we would expect a vote of the general Community would yield the same result.

Discussion of Results:

            The results are fairly consistent, with all age categories agreeing that a tops-optional policy would not effect property values.
